Frysia

Two hundred years ago, Frysia was the heart of the continent. Not the strongest. The center — the nation where the Millennium Bearer sat, where every power came to talk instead of fight. Then came the night the world calls the Betrayal, and Frysia learned that its protection had been the envy of every throne on the map.

Now the south, Vryehelm, is nominally free and watched constantly. The north, Rovengaard, is occupied ground: labor camps, stripped mines, written Frysian banned by decree. So the culture went underground and oral. Songs that are maps. Stories that are inventories. Grandmothers who are libraries. In Frysia, memory itself is resistance.

And there is the faith. The Millennium: divine justice, freedom, rebirth, and a savior who comes once in a thousand years. Britannia calls it superstition. But offshore, coral grows across a drowned throne in patterns that look like letters. In an enemy vault, a stone has burned every hand that touched it for two hundred years. And in the south, the faithful have started saying something that should be impossible.

It's early. The stone is calling early.
