Axel

“Everyone keeps saying it's just a stone. Fine. Then why does the vault have more guards than the border?”— Axel

Axel is Frysian, brilliant, and dangerous with a keyboard. He broke into a Britannian company's systems for reasons he considered righteous, and got caught. That's how you end up on a crew planning to steal a god.

On a team full of soldiers and believers, Axel is the conscience. He's the one who keeps asking what stealing the Millennium actually costs, and who pays. He believes every problem has a logical answer.

Which is why the headaches bother him. They started small. They're not small anymore. They get worse the closer the crew gets to the target, and no scan, no medicine, no logic explains them.

The Chronicle
I
Origin
Axel de Jong was born into a Frysia already broken. The camps did not teach him to fight. They taught him to listen, to wait, and to remember every face. He learned encryption the way other boys learned scripture — out of necessity.
II
The Operative
He operates in the margins of the Frysian resistance, where the line between liberation and violence has long since blurred. He does not believe in clean hands. He believes in results.
III
The Search
Every system he breaks into, every encrypted file he tears open, brings him one step closer to finding Ash — or one step deeper into a conspiracy he was never meant to survive. The question is no longer whether he can find his brother. The question is what he will become by the time he does.

He does not believe in clean hands. He believes in results.
